How to Prepare for Your Scan

Abdominal / Pelvic Ultrasound
  • Fast for 4–6 hours before the scan (no food or water, except plain water)
  • For pelvic scan: drink 4–6 glasses of water 1 hour before and do not urinate
  • Wear comfortable, loose clothing
  • Bring all previous reports and doctor's referral letter
Obstetric (Pregnancy) Scan
  • Early pregnancy scans: full bladder recommended (drink water beforehand)
  • Second and third trimester: no special preparation needed
  • Bring your antenatal card, previous scan reports, and doctor's slip
  • A trusted family member is welcome to accompany you
Thyroid / Neck / Breast Scan
  • No special preparation needed
  • Wear a top that allows easy access to the neck/chest area
  • Remove any necklaces or jewellery before arriving

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ultrasound safe during pregnancy?
Yes. Ultrasound uses sound waves, not radiation, and has been used safely in obstetrics for decades. It is the preferred imaging method during pregnancy. At our clinic, all scans are performed by an experienced specialist using modern equipment.
How long does an ultrasound take?
Most standard ultrasound scans take 15–30 minutes. Detailed scans such as the anomaly scan (Level II) or Doppler studies may take longer. Reports are typically provided within 15 minutes of the scan.
Can I walk in, or do I need an appointment?
Both walk-ins and appointments are welcome. However, we recommend booking in advance — especially for pregnancy scans and surgical consultations — to avoid waiting and to ensure the doctor is available for you.
Does Dr. Sanjay Chaube perform surgery at this clinic?
No. Dr. Sanjay Chaube offers OPD (outpatient) consultations only. If a surgical procedure is required, he will guide you to the appropriate hospital or surgical facility and provide full pre- and post-operative support.
Will I receive a written report for my scan?
Yes. Every patient receives a detailed written report signed by Dr. Jyoti Chaube. Key images from the scan are also printed for your records. Most reports are ready within 15 minutes of the scan.
Do you offer sex determination of the fetus?
No. Sex determination is strictly prohibited under the PCPNDT Act, 1994. Our clinic is fully compliant with all regulations under this Act. We do not disclose fetal sex under any circumstances.
Is the clinic accessible by auto or rickshaw?
Yes, the clinic is centrally located in Jhansi and easily accessible by auto-rickshaw, e-rickshaw, and private vehicle. Patients from nearby districts can also reach us comfortably. Please call us for detailed directions.
